Worship

worship-singingworship-advent-wreathAs direct descendants of the Reformed Tradition, Presbyterian Churches place a strong emphasis on worship, especially preaching.

We observe the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  Infants, children or adults may be presented for baptism into the Family of Christ.  The Lord’s Supper is available for all who have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our service begins with welcome and announcements and proceeds through the Psalm for the day, prayers (often said in unison), hymns, Scripture lessons, Time for Young Disciples, sermon, Affirmations of Faith, offering, and benediction.

We also have several special worship services throughout the year, including:

  • Hanging of the Green
  • Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
  • Ash Wednesday
  • Maundy Thursday
  • Good Friday
  • Youth Sunday
  • Gifts of Women
  • Gifts of Men
  • Founder’s Day
  • Community Thanksgiving Service
