Fellowship

Building relationships with one another binds us together as the body of Christ and brings joy and fullness to our lives.  Below are a variety of ways we spend time together in fellowship as a church family.

Ongoing Activities

Going-On-Group
This active group of seniors joins together for fellowship and fun each month. Annually in September, members gather to set the calendar for the upcoming year, and trips are planned and led by individual members of the group.

Smoky Mountain Hiking Groupknitting
The hiking club takes advantage of our close proximity to the Smoky Mountains with monthly hikes for members and friends of the church. The group leaves from the church at 8:00 on Saturday, eats on the trail, and returns early in the afternoon. Check the online church calendar to see the scheduled hikes for this year!

Sit N Knit On the third Friday of each month at 7:00, members gather together to work on knitting projects and other crafts and share stories and laughter.

Annual Events

Summer Picnic
Members Pat and Mary Ellen Patton invite the congregation to their home on Cherokee Lake one Sunday evening in June. Everyone brings a dish to share and members visit with each other and make trips out on the lake to swim and play!

Hay Ridewill-hunting
At harvest time each year, the congregation joins together on a Sunday evening for a bonfire where we roast hot dogs and make smores. Everyone then loads up on the trailer behind the tractor for a ride around the farm!

Vacation Bible School
Each year for a week in the summer the church organizes and hosts VBS for all ages. The theme is different each year, as members join together to lead songs, crafts, Bible stories, games, and snacks!

Easter Egg Hunt
On Palm Sunday each year, children of the church bring their baskets to worship and join together after church to hunt for Easter eggs. The church provides hot dogs and several sides for children and parents.

Congregational Retreatretreat
Each year the congregation travels to the Holston Presbytery Camp and Conference Center for a weekend together in the mountains. This is a time of study, sabbath, and fellowship as all ages study, learn, and play together.

Amazing Grazing
A great way for new people to get to know others in the congregation, this supper club meets in January, February, and March of each year. Members meet together in homes to enjoy a meal and learn each other’s stories.
