Too busy to cook? Meet your neightbors at our Church Street Cafe!
The Church Street Cafe is a bi-monthly meal of hospitality for our local community. Mission teams from the church work together to plan the menu, set up the room, greet guests, serve the meal, and clean up afterward. This is a ministry for the whole family, with young children through older adults serving alongside one another, offering their gifts in whatever way possible. This ministry provides fresh meals and hospitality to all our guests. We are fortunate to partner with Midwest Food Bank, a faith-based, non-denominational nonprofit charitable organization.
Through this ministry we hope to live out the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ, by seeking how we can be faithful in the neighborhood where God has planted us. By meeting our neighbors, providing a time of fellowship, helping busy families find time to sit down together, and aid families in stretching the monthly meal budget, we hope to live out the promise of the sacrament of communion, that in the kingdom of God “people will come from north and south and east and west to sit at the Lord’s Table.”
