THE HISTORY OF OUR CHURCH AND OUR PEOPLE. Beginning Sunday, August 13th, David Needs will be leading a six week class in the fellowship hall during Sunday School to celebrate our church’s 150th Anniversary. We will examine the history of our town and our church and our people. We will see both similarities and differences from a time past but examine it through a spiritual lens showing how these events related to biblical principles, too. Among the topics covered:
Prelude to the civil war and living in uncertain time;
The civil war;
Rebuilding a town and relationships;
Education and its impact;
What the church service in our current church looked like;
And much more.
Please make plans to join us during Sunday School as we continue to celebrate our 150th Anniversary. Every class will contain information regarding our history but if you miss one, you can come in and pick right back up. Remember breakfast and coffee at 9:30 and Sunday School at 9:45.
Sit ‘n Knit Group– On Friday, August 18th, at 7:00 p.m., we will be having the Sit ‘n Knit gathering at the home of Eva Zirkle (1454 Royal Dr., Jefferson City).
Meals for Meadows Family—Life in the Meadows house is very busy with the arrival of triplet boys! Let’s show them our love and support by providing meals, making that one less thing they have to do! If you would like to prepare a meal, please go to www.takethemameal.com to sign up (go to the Find box and type in Meadows for the recipients name and the password is 3333). Meals should be left in the church kitchen by 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Dates, meal ideas, likes and dislikes can all be found on the website. Please call or text Roxanne Moser at 865-696-4004 if you have any questions or need help signing up. We need volunteers for September. Please take a few minutes to check out the website and see if you are available!
