Dave Strickler, Pastor
Dave grew up in Western North Carolina as the child of two ministers. After high school he spent a year doing mission work in South America and his home town. He graduated from Wheaton College, magna cum laude with a BA in Theology and obtained a Certificate in Early Christian Studies. During his studies at Wheaton, he was part of a study tour of Israel, Turkey, Greece, and Italy. Those studies examined, among other things, the debates and crises among Protestants, Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox as well as between Palestinians and Israelis.
He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University Divinity School graduating summa cum laude. During his divinity school studies he served in two pastoral internships and two chaplain internships. He has served as an Interim Youth Director and a Teaching Assistant during his years at Wheaton.
He has spent the last two and a half years as a teacher of Theology and Humanities while serving as Dean of Middle School Students for one and a half of those years at Faith Christian School in Virginia. His wife Mollie earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant in Virginia.
He was ordained during the summer of 2016 as Minister of the Word and Sacrament in Western North Carolina Presbytery.
Beth Folsom, Clerk of Session
Heather Hill, Administrator
Heather has served as the church administrator since 2006. She handles all reception duties, bookkeeping, church communications, and building maintenance and upkeep. A native of Illinois, Heather is a graduate of Illinois State University and Tusculum College. She is married to John, a logistics coordinator, and the step-mother of two sons and the soon-to-be mother of a new son.
Angie France, Music Director
Angie came to FPC in 1986 as Director of the newly-formed handbell choir. In 1989 she became the lead Organist as well. Weekly, Angie leads rehearsals of the sanctuary choir, the adult handbell choir, and the children’s handbell choir, as well as playing the organ and piano for worship. She regularly contributes to special worship services throughout the year. Angie is an East Tennessee native and holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Education degree from Carson-Newman. Angie is also a part of the Knoxville Choral Society. She is retired after thirty years as a music teacher at Carter Middle.
Tiffany Wymer, Nursery Attendant
Tiffany joined the church as nursery attendant in 2012. With a long history as a babysitter, childcare worker, and personal nanny, Tiffany brings compassion, order, and love to the lives of the children of FPC. She works with the nursery kids on basic Bible knowledge, cares for the preschoolers during worship, and keeps children for other church functions.
